Contributing writer Kumar Samtani shares his picks on some of the best brunch spots in Dubai.
Brunch in Dubai has become an institution, with most of the City of Gold’s top restaurants and hotels offering this dining option, particularly on Fridays. However, there are “brunches” and there are “decadent brunches” and our pick of the latter are:
Located inside the Palace Hotel in downtown Dubai, locals and tourists alike are flocking to Ewaan’s decadent and indulgent Friday Brunch. It boasts live foie gras and scallop stations, a beautiful selection of seafood, including lobster prepared in a variety of styles, and juicy beef tenderloin that diners rave about. Add to this a fantastic view of the Burj Khalifa and the Palace Gardens, teamed with friendly and attentive service staff, Ewaan’s Friday Brunch is certainly one of the top brunches in Dubai.
Dining at the opulent Imperium is always a pleasure, and their Saturday Jazz brunch offering is no exception. With an impressive array of expertly prepared buffet food, an oyster bar, as well as cook-to-order seafood options, wonderful wait staff, a live jazz band performing and a glass of champagne in hand as you enjoy the views over the Dubai Marina, it could just be the highlight of your weekend.
Boasting a spectacular location at the feet of the world’s tallest building right next to the Dubai fountain, the Friday brunch offered at Armani/Hashi is a must for lovers of fine and elegant Japanese cuisine. The restaurant has superb quality sashimi and sushi, and an excellent a la carte wine selection. The Armani/Hashi chef will check in to make sure you are enjoying your brunch – and make suggestions for dishes to take your dining experience to new heights.
As one of the most upscale and highly rated Indian fine dining restaurants in Dubai, Bombay Brasserie’s lavish Friday brunch never fails to impress. Your taste buds will be taken on a journey, as you are presented with dish after dish brought out by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The Malabar salad is a standout dish, along with the coconut prawn curry, and the meal ends on a high note when a platter of classic Indian desserts is presented. The brunch drinks package also includes unique and well-paired beverages to enhance each of the dishes you choose.
Mint Leaf of London
A spectacular view of the Dubai Skyline and the Burj Khalifa through the floor to ceiling windows makes Mint Leaf of London a fabulous location for brunch in Dubai. Feast your way through six Indian courses while taking in the view with your friends and enjoying the live music being performed in the background. Staff are helpful and accommodating, with vegetarian options being readily available on request.
Located at the Intercontinental Dubai Marina, brunch at the Marina Social is a definite must-try. With a traditional British menu created by award-winning chef Jason Atherton, it is one of the most sought-after brunch options in Dubai. Lovely location, generous portions designed for sharing, and truly delicious food. The beef cheek n’ cheese is its signature dish, and the chefs are excellent at working around any food allergies diners may have, creating customised options where required. Warm and friendly staff and a great atmosphere perfectly round out this brunch experience.
With its sophisticated atmosphere and stunning food presentation, Zuma’s Friday brunch sessions are always popular. Diners appreciate the quality of the produce used, and love their sushi, maki, and sashimi. An array of drinks is available from which to choose, including Japanese rice-based options, as well as premium drinks and cleansers. With an elegant large buffet selection on offer, an a la carte menu for mains, and flawless service, you will be back to Zuma again and again.
